MUST DO Fall Garden Tasks for a Successful Spring Workshop

With so many EHS member requests for a Fall workshop, Frank Kershaw returns to share his tips and techniques to help us prepare our gardens this Fall and get great payback in the Spring.

This is the second skill development workshop this year, offered by Frank Kershaw for EHS members and non-members. Frank Kershaw is an award-winning horticulturist with 50+ years of industry experience. He is an accomplished teacher, writer, photographer and expert plantsman.

The key areas Frank will focus on include:

  • Winter-Proofing and Mulching - prepping, wrapping, mulching and other techniques

  • Maintenance Pruning - how and which vines, trees and shrubs to prune in the Fall

  • Turf/Grass Care - for maintenance and rejuvenation

  • Bulb Care - bulb planting, winter forcing, overwintering (esp. Dahlias, Callas etc)

  • Seed Collection - cleaning, cold stratification, germination, propagation

    Join us for this 3 hour workshop to get your garden ready for the winter because your spring garden will only be as good as your Fall garden preparation!

Date/Time: Saturday September 27th from 9am - Noon (this includes instruction and Q&A)

Plant Sale: YES, once again, Frank will have an amazing selection of plants for attendees to purchase at noon (cash purchases only)

Location: 55 Lambeth Road

What you need: Workshop participants need to dress for the weather, bring a ‘camp/lawn’ chair, a small lunch, notebook/pen. Tea and nibbles will be offered.

Cost: $25 per EHS members; Non-member $45
