There are several sources for Native plants and the list continues to grow. We will do our best to stay up-to-date with information on local sources including:

One source of natives is www.nanps.org.  This is the website for North American Native Plant Society.  These folks hold a giant plant sale at the TBG every spring and one in Christie Pits in the fall.  One can pre-order for the spring sale and pick up on the day of the sale.  This website is also chock full of information on pretty much anything to do with native plants.

Another source is a new website called www.onplants.ca.  This is an on-line nursery that features Ontario native plants.  I plan on using them this year as I have new gardens to plant.  Their website is also consumer friendly with searchable categories like Deer Resistant, Juglone Tolerant, Rabbit Resistant and Edible Fruit.

Native Plants in Claremont (www.nativeplants.ca) is in Claremont (north Pickering) and Not So Hollow Farm (www.notsohollowfarm.ca) is in Mulmur.  Check their websites for stock, opening times, open  houses etc.  Subscribe to their newsletters to keep you up to date.  NANPS has other nurseries listed but some of these are commercial growers and not open to the public.

For EHS members, please check the Members-Only section of this website in the ‘Insider’s Tip’ section where Sean James has generously shared his list of Native Plant sources.

The Toronto Plant Market and Native Plant Supply on 327 Bering Avenue is a new source that is worth visiting. Opening day is April 8th from 9am - 1pm.
