What is with all the fuss about invasive plants?  It seems some of our most beloved plants like lily of the valley and vinca are now persona non grata in certain circles but are still being sold at plant nurseries.  What gives?

In 2018 Etobicoke Horticultural Society began banning invasive plants from being offered for sale at our annual plant sale. We haven’t wavered in our commitment and continue to prohibit the following plants from being sold at our sale. Joanne Fallowfield, a longstanding EHS member, offers insights and a chart detailing the plants the EHS has banned with some suggested alternatives.
